SECOND ANNUAL SWIMMING GALA 2008….THE BUZZ STARTS !!

Zoom in on the date Sunday, 10th August, 2008 in our Jamaat Calender and you will notice in Colour and Bold…. ‘SWIMMING GALA.’ Yes, time is approaching very fast for the day when the community swimmers from all age groups will compete in various swimming events. The Gala will be held at the Aspire Centre between the hours of 7.30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Straight after, All participants and visitors will proceed to our Hujjat Centre for the Hearty Breakfast Programme and a Grand Awards Presentation Ceremony.  

The response for swimming for the year 2008 has been tremendous. Many new faces have joined us and the pool is getting filled up to capacity. One has to see it to believe the massive turn out for the Water Polo sessions. Following the success of our very first Gala held last year, We want to make the second annual Gala bigger and better. The number of events will increase to accommodate the improved swimming standards and we shall introduce Group/Relays Swimming for the first time. The increased events for our Toddlers will see a depth of variety. They will love to take part in all of them. We expect many entries from the ‘non-swimmers’ SJ members as they do not want to miss out this year as well. They are very welcome to take part not forgetting the ‘Fathers & Toddlers events’. Our aim is to ensure that all participants enjoy the event in a fair and square manner and that rules and procedures are followed by all for the event to be one of fun and enjoyment. In the days to follow, the Website will be updated with the details of the swimming events and other important information for the participants. Please make sure you do not miss out. In the meantime, hereunder are the rules for participation in the Gala for all to follow.  

RULES:  

1. ONLY FULLY PAID UP MEMBERS OF STANMORE JAFFERYS WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE GALA.  

2. ‘NON SWIMMER’ SJ MEMBERS WANTING TO TAKE PART WILL HAVE TO ATTEND ATLEAST THREE SJ SUNDAY SWIMMING SESSIONS PRIOR TO THE GALA SUNDAY.  

3. THE CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES FOR THE GALA WILL BE SUNDAY 27TH JULY, 2008.  

4. EACH PARTICIPANT WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER A MAXIMUM OF FOUR EVENTS.  

5. BROTHERS ARE WELCOME TO ENROL AS NEW SJ MEMBERS BY 20TH JULY,2008.  

6. THE GALA ORGANISING COMMITTEE ‘S DECISIONS ON ALL MATTERS WILL BE FINAL AND BINDING.
