WATER POLO ENJOYED BY ONE AND ALL
07 January 2008 20:57
Its been over two months since the swimming pool sport of Water Polo was introduced at our swimming sessions on Sunday mornings. These have been a huge success, thanks to the very hard work put in by our co-ordinator Murtaza Panju. Such is the popularity of the sport that one can witness more than a dozen outside spectators, who are waiting their turn to swim, seated on the benches by the pool and enjoying watching our stars in water polo action.
The sport is played every second Sunday for the final fifteen minutes of our normal session. Yet there is a lane reserved for those who prefer to continue normal swimming. Special sessions are organised for Under 16’s as well. There are proper Goal Posts in place and each team has its own uniformed swimming caps. The enthusiasm and response shown by our swimmers is commendable. It seems Water Polo is going to stay for a very long time !
All SJ Swimming members are notified that Swimming is canceled only for Sunday, the 20th of January, 2008, due to Ashre Muharram. And the next Water Polo session will be for the Under 16’s on Sunday 27th January 2008.
