About Us

Dedicated to serving the youth and the community at large, Stanmore Jafferys (SJ) is the youth body for the Islamic Centre, Stanmore, London.

Form its roots as Ithna-asheri Union, to its current day structure; Stanmore Jafferys has been organising activities for its members for over 15 years. Catering to the Religious, Educational, Sporting and Social needs of our community, each year sees SJ’s growing from strength to strength.

Our Literary department is very active, organising Seminars, Debates, Discussion and Classes which have proved to be very popular with all ages of the community. Always keeping their finger on the pulse of our youth, out literary department strives to keep their topics fresh, current and to capture the minds of our youth.

Our sports departments cater for a number of sports, ranging from Football, Volleyball, Cricket, Badminton and the much loved Swimming. With activities arranged across a wide range of the community, from our very youngest to our more senior players, the sporting activities of SJ are thriving.

SJ’s regularly enters tournaments, from local UK tournaments, to International tournaments; SJ’s are representing the Stanmore Community to the wider world.

SJ’s is run by volunteers whose aim is to serve the community. As an organisation we thrive on new ideas, new projects all aimed at stimulating the community and in particular the youth.

We welcome feedback, ideas and most importantly offers of help. If you feel you would like to get involved in any way, across any of the SJ facets, get in touch and come and join us.
